It has been 1 week since we delivered Matthew to the MTC and let me tell you, there are no better words to a Mother's ears than "Love Your Elder That's Doing Fine". We have received 2 more letters and an email from Matthew So thankful he is writing often and letting us know what he's up to. The second letter he sounded a bit discouraged/homesick. So I decided to wait it out before adding any thoughts here and I am thankful I did. Today's letter was so positive, upbeat and happy. I am thankful whatever was bothering him passed quickly and he is back to work. His prep days at the MTC will be Tuesdays so he should be able to receive and send emails then. He has been to the Provo Temple once, which seemed to lift his spirits. He really enjoys the Temple and gets so much peace when he attends.
He has been teaching lots of lessons, and had opportunities to work with real investigators. He is starting what is called TRC or Teaching Resource Center. In there he is teaching people who may or may not be real investigators. He doesn't know when he walks in if it is a teacher role playing or a real investigator. So thankful they have these elders working with actual investigators before sending them out. Great learning opportunities for these young men & women. He sounds happy.
Anyone wishing to write to Matthew can do so via his email at the top of the blog, or another option is found at www.dearelder.com. They offer a free service while he is at the MTC. You can write a letter on their website before Noon, and it will be printed and delivered to him that day at dinnertime. You are able to write him every day if desired. You can write him using this service after he leaves the MTC, but it is the cost of a postage stamp if you do it then. It's a great service!
Thank You everyone for your prayers on Matthew's behalf. I know he needs them, and appreciates them very much! Glad he is doing well, and learning so much.
Kim
