What a busy month this has been! I can't hardly believe that Matthew has been gone almost 2 months! After a short and busy holiday season, and a whirlwind trip to Louisiana for Mike's Grandma's funeral, we came back home and finally made a decision about where we go from here. For multiple reasons, we have decided to move to Spanish Fork for now, to stay with Mike's parents who have graciously agreed to let us land there for awhile. This has created a busy schedule of packing at our house and has interfered with my blog updates. Hopefully that will get better after we are settled.
For now, Matthew is doing very well. He had a hard December as we knew he probably would. Holidays are especially difficult for these Elders away from home, and arriving in San Antonio 5 days before Christmas Day probably didn't help. We are proud of Matthew though, he trudged through the homesickness and seems to be headed in the right direction. He says they are having great gospel conversations, and he finds it hard not to Bible Bash with some of them. He says he is busy and having fun. He writes briefly and only once a week, so I guess I will be thankful that he is too busy to write. I am still awaiting pictures from the MTC - sounds like there was a bit of a mix up we are trying to figure out still.
Our Bishop received Matthew's Mission Plaque that now hangs in our ward building. We have 4 missionaries out in the mission field in our ward. Exciting times for our ward members. We appreciate all of them and the support they are to Matthew and our family.
That's about it for now - more updates once we get settled. Thank You everyone for your continued support and prayers for Matthew. We are eternally thankful.
Kim
